¿No sabes qué ver en Bali? ¿Vas a viajar a Lombok? No te preocupes, nuestro blog va a ser tu guía definitiva para el...
¿Qué ver en Tailandia? es un país exótico y conocido por no dejar indiferente a nadie, llamado el país de las sonrisas. We spent 22 days exploring the northern part of the country by motorcycle, so we’ve gotten to know it well enough to give you our recommendations!
Chiang Rai: The Best to See on Your Trip to Thailand
We have great memories of Chiang Rai, there’s no denying it. The best thing about this place is that it serves as a base for visiting several sites. The famous White Temple (small and beautiful in equal parts), waterfalls, temples, rice fields, and charming spots like riverside restaurants are highlights.
We recommend staying here for about 3 days to fully enjoy the place and not miss anything important. From here, you can also visit the famous Golden Triangle (a unique spot where you can see Thailand, Myanmar, and Laos simultaneously), mountains like Pha Mi Village, among others.
PAI: The jewel Next to Chiang Mai
What to see on your trip to Thailand? The town of PAI has become very well-known in recent years, and it’s not by chance. Thailand is a highly touristy destination, known worldwide, and PAI offers the perfect blend of tranquility and travel options. It has a hippie vibe, lots of backpackers, and a main street with various food offerings, mostly local street food stalls.
Getting to PAI is a pleasure. The best way is to rent a motorcycle in Chiang Mai and ride the curves of the famous Mae Hong Son loop to reach the town. The road is in very good condition, and you’ll find shops along the way, so don’t worry. Once in town, you can find charming hotels at very good prices.
Around PAI, there are several things to do: waterfalls, temples, buddhas, trekking, etc. We recommend staying for two days,if you fall in love with the place (which happens to many people), you can stay longer!
Mae Sariang: The End of the Mae Hong Son Loop
In this mountain village, we had no expectations. It wasn’t on our list of places to see in Thailand, so we thought it was just the end of the route, which is why we were pleasantly surprised. Most people who complete the loop end their trip at the previous stop, Mae Hong Son (where you get the certificate), but it actually ends here. We saw very few tourists during the 3 days we spent, and it was very pleasant because you can immerse yourself more in local life without losing your “comforts.”
I would sum it up as a charming village where you’ll meet people who will give you a deeper understanding of local life, which is very difficult in Thailand as they are so used to tourists.
Sukhothai: Buddhist Historical Ruins
Nosotros no conocíamos Sukhothai, pero acabamos allí casi de casualidad. If you like learning about the history of the countries you visit, you can’t miss it. It’s full of historical ruins related to Buddhism, the country’s major religion. With 2 days, you’ll have seen all the important sites, so that’s our recommendation.
Chiang Mai: The Capital of the North
We recommend Chiang Mai as the first stop. It has a city vibe like Bangkok but is smaller and not as chaotic as the capital. It’s ideal for doing some “touristy” activities. We went to an amazing Italian restaurant and watched a live Muay Thai fight, the famous Thai martial art.
There’s a night market where you can buy almost anything, a great food scene, and various activities you can book: visiting national parks, zip-lining, buggies, and more.
Now that you know what to see on your trip to Thailand, you should know that the best way to explore these sites is by motorcycle:whether it’s a scooter if you don’t have much riding experience or a high-displacement motorcycle.Contact us without hesitation if you want more information about your great trip to Thailand!
